Three-year-old organization reports global reach with 5,000 strong across seven chapters
Women in Wireless (WIW), a non-profit organization that promotes and develops female leaders in mobile and digital media, today announced the results of two quarters of strong growth. Women in Wireless now totals 5,000 members and seven chapters, two of which were launched earlier this year in Atlanta and Boston.
Diana Epstein and Kristine Newman were appointed co-presidents earlier this year and take the reins from co-founders Charlotte Fors and Veronika Sonsev to help maintain and grow the organization’s substantial momentum in North America and internationally.
“With our unprecedented growth, WIW helped spur more opportunity for women in the mobile industry than ever before,” said Diana Epstein, co-president of WIW. “Kristine and I, along with our leadership committees and Charlotte and Veronika on the Advisory Board, look forward to continuing to increase the number of women working in these industries and keep driving the momentum established by Charlotte and Veronika, globally.”
“As a result of our immense growth, we are also enhancing our Website to include more functionality and better social networking tie-ins as an added value for our members,” said Kristine Newman, co-president of WIW.
Third Annual WIW Multi-City Event in September 2013
On September 10th, 2013 WIW will host its 3rd Annual Multi-City event in cities all over the world including Boston, Chicago, Dallas, London, Los Angeles, Hamburg, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and Singapore. Members and non-members alike are welcome to join.
“Our community feels strongly about hosting a night out around the world where we can all participate in celebrating women’s innovation, progress and success in the wireless industry,” said Ms. Newman.
