Women in Wireless San Francisco Announces 2014 Mentorship Program

The San Francisco chapter of Women in Wireless is thrilled to announce our Mentorship Program!

This year we've designed a unique program to give mentor/mentee pairs an opportunity to sharpen their skills, flex their creative muscle, and partake in a valuable real-world learning project.

The program has 3 phases that each pair will work on together, then present to an industry leader and a small group for constructive, positive feedback:
  • 1: Develop an idea for how mobile technology could improve life in developing areas
  • 2: Craft and present a VC pitch
  • 3: Build a go-to market plan to bring your idea to life

Mentors and Mentees will be required to attend 4 Women in Wireless events throughout the year to sync up with each other and to showcase their work (about once every 6 weeks).

This is an incredible opportunity to advance your personal and professional development through a direct partnership with other innovative, brilliant, and connected Women in Wireless.

We encourage everyone to apply today!   FAQ and key dates below.

Key Dates
  • 4/25: Application submission deadline

What’s the time commitment?
The program is 7 months long, from April to December.  Attendance is required at  4 Women in Wireless events throughout the year; please see key dates below.  Other than that, the frequency with which you meet your mentor/mentee is up to you and your partner; we encourage you to meet regularly and set a schedule that suits you both.
Should I apply?
Should I be a mentor? Or a mentee?
We encourage applicants at the Director level and above to be mentors, and all others to be mentees.  If you feel your circumstance is unique, please include that in the application.
How does it work?  What do I need to do?
Please submit your application via the links above before April 25th. We will review your information to carefully match you with a mentor or mentee that we think would be a great fit.

We will announce pairs via email on May 9, and on June 4th, there will be a small kick-off event for all participants to meet before a Women In Wireless event.

From then on, each pair will meet individually, and we will reconvene as a group for the first round of presentations on August 6.
We will meet again as a group for phase 2 and 3 presentations in September and October.  The program will wrap on December 3rd at our Holiday Gala.

Thanks and we hope you will join this fun and rewarding program!

  1. Great write-up! Writing is a talent, and it must not be wasted. As with everything that we had been entrusted, we should
